30 Jan We missed you at Bett…
You had to be there. That is the only way we can possibly explain the enormity of Bett 2018 this year, as once again your Technology partners from Academia ventured down to the biggest Education show in the country. Our quick highlight reel is all you need to catch up on what you missed:
The Greatest Show in London
To explain the size of Bett can be based on imagining 3 full-length football pitches placed side to side – The show this year went above and beyond its promise of filling the ExCel centre with the very best from the world of education support, product and services, showing that the industry is alive and well and certainly prospering with new technology advancements. We were delighted to support key partners at the event, including our friends at Zioxi, SecurityXtra, HP, LightSpeed and Google for Education – whilst we also marvelled at the international offering on show, further highlighting the strong growth in the Education market.
Academia was proud to support the Solutions Den area of Bett – an open forum speaking area where the great and good of public speaking come to offer advice and support on software and classroom assistance. Representing Academia were Paul Hutton, Apple Distinguished Educator, Tom Able-Green, Apple, Microsoft and Google Solutions Manager, Chris Wheeler, Founder of Foldr and Brad Chuck, the resident Marketing Manager from Academia. To coin a phrase, ‘Standing Room Only’ would be the best way to describe the audience feedback and participation our bestowed speakers received. Missed out on what they had to say? A change of direction this year gave School leaders the chance to have One to One conversations with our dedicated technology solutions team in a closed off area of the event. The set agenda timetable and easy to manage schedule meant we were able to educate over 30 teachers about the merits of classroom technology in 20 minutes! Missed out? Running alongside Bett at the Crowne Plaza hotel was the Academia Transforming Education with iPad workshops – 5 x 50 minute one to one training and adaptability sessions that gave our visitors a first-hand experience on using new applications and accessories in the classroom on their tablet devices. Huge thanks to Tom Able-Green, Greg Hughes and Paul Hutton for being our educators for the afternoon – as well as the rather lovely Academia cupcakes that were on show.
