Academia awarded place on the NWUPC Broadcast and Integration Framework

Academia Ltd. has successfully been awarded a place on the NWUPC Broadcast and Integration Services Framework in Lot 1 for Audio services.

The North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium (NWUPC) launched a requirement to establish a Framework Agreement for the provision of broadcast equipment and integration services in the United Kingdom this year, awarding a place for Academia Ltd. following a formal tender process.

Academia Ltd. has been awarded the framework agreement to start on 1st July 2019 until 30th June 2021 with 2 x 1-year extension periods available until 30th June 2023.

What does this mean?

The framework means that Academia can offer audio products that includes supply and delivery of a range of equipment, consumables and associated products including; Amplifiers, microphones, sound mixers, headphones, earphones, speakers, audio furniture (including custom made), cables and associated accessories.

These products will be utilised in but not limited to the following areas; Broadcast, Theatre and Other Studio and Recording Environments for Television, Film, Radio, Theatre, Music and Associated Media Services Environments.

Who is the NWUPC?

The North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium (NWUPC) is a not for profit company limited by guarantee owned by its Full members consisting of 23 Universities within the North West Region. The Company is owned by and works for the interests of its Full Members, all of which are Higher Education Institutions; any applications for full membership are subject to Board approval.

The purpose of the NWUPC is:

  • To make full use of the Consortium’s purchasing power to maximise benefit for its member institutions.
  • To minimise the cost to the member institutions of implementing the strategy.
  • To develop purchasing staff within the NWUPC and its member institutions.
  • To enable the Consortium to play a full and constructive part in national Higher Education purchasing initiatives.
