Hiring millennials has led to positive changes in the workplace. This fresh input of new ideas and thinking that is changing perceptions on what level of customer service that businesses can offer has transformed the solutions process to meet with the changing product knowledge demand. By bringing in younger team members a business is not only helping with the recruitment and graduation process, but also supplying the answers to the questions that those slightly longer in the tooth fail to grasp. Welcome to the future.
Demand leads to change – Academia are at the forefront by being a first hand customer support service to outline the latest technology innovations that require detailed explanation and training from our experienced experts. We also need to be aware that changing dynamic tools and products aimed at a younger audience need the expert opinion of someone of similar age and experience. Fast forward the Academia Sales Academy 2018.
After hugely successful recruitment events in the past that have seen junior account managers grow in the Academia Group, the HR and event team launched the 2018 Sales Academia at the HP experience Centre in central London on the 11th September 2018.
The Sales Academy is driven by the passion for developing future talent within the Academia family. By providing structured training as well as on-the-job leaning, the Sales Academy provides everything the successful graduate-calibre individuals need to set them up for future success.
With over 20 candidates taking part this year, it was the biggest event yet. Starting with an introduction from the Academia board members, the morning consisted of 4 tasks for the academy to cover, with 3 being team based scenarios and 1 an individual task. After a great lunch of getting to know all the candidates a little better, those who were shortlisted then had final one to one meetings and interviews with the senior panel.
After lengthy discussions and thought provoking debate, 7 of the 20 were selected to be offered a full time junior sales contract within the Academia Group.
Needless to say, an intensive and full-on but high energy and very successful day was had by all those involved. Those offered a role joined their new work colleagues for drinks after to celebrate and they started with the Academia Group on the 1st October 2018. Sales in itself is a challenging but immensely rewarding career. Thanks to the success of our Academy we shall start to look to build towards the 2019 recruitment program as we search for the next ambitious, energetic, eager-to-learn superstars of the future.
